Nearby.ai is seeking an MBA-level Business Development & Strategy Intern to own a merchant-acquisition initiative end-to-end—from market research and territory selection, through self-sourced outreach and data-driven analysis, to a leadership-ready recommendation.

This internship is not a support role and will be measured on real business outcomes—partners signed, pipeline, and insights—over 3–6 months, 20–40 hours per week, with remote work options.

Qualifications

• MBA-level candidate with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable cold outreach.
• Self-directed, able to build a plan and execute with minimal guidance.
• Experience in consulting, sales, BD, or startups is preferred.
• Strong numeric/data-driven mindset and comfort with spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Own merchant-acquisition end-to-end: market research and territory selection.
• Self-sourced outreach and pipeline development with direct outreach to merchants.
• Analyze outreach data and build a simple business case to justify focus areas.
• Draft outreach scripts and partnerships proposals for various merchant types.
• Lead onboarding conversations and push deals through to close.
• Report weekly on metrics and present final go-forward recommendations.
