Job summary

Zillow Group seeks a Senior Marketing Technologist/Marketing Data Engineer to build and optimize data infrastructure powering marketing campaigns. You will bridge marketing, product, and engineering, shaping scalable, secure architectures and delivering AI-powered automation.

You’ll drive platform onboarding, data modeling, and integration efforts, translating business needs into technical specs while mentoring teams and advancing the marketing tech roadmap.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Analytics, Tech Operations, or Marketing Technologist roles overseeing technical programs across cross‑functional teams.
• Expertise in SQL and relational databases; Python or other programming languages preferred.
• Hands-on ETL experience, cloud services (AWS S3 and Lambda), and API integrations.
• Nice to have: experience with marketing platforms (CDP, ESP, Google/Facebook APIs) and CRM tools (HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Operations Management, or similar field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Configure the Customer Data Platform and marketing systems to enable centralized customer data management and power campaigns.
• Own the marketing technology roadmap by onboarding new platforms, including requirements, design, testing, and end-user training.
• Contribute to MarTech system design and architecture discussions to build a flexible, scalable stack.
• Translate business requirements into technical specs and data needs for personalized customer experiences.
• Build integrations between systems and APIs; develop ETLs to federate data across channels.
• Develop and use AI tools to automate processes and streamline workflows.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and engineering on detailed technical project plans.
• Assess risks, balance business vs technical needs, and refine scope to deliver on time.
• Contribute to prototypes, code samples, demos, and peer reviews.
• Coordinate with dev dependencies to align cross‑tech sprint schedules.
• Document and maintain standardized processes, automation where possible.
