Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Maritime Operational Technology (OT) Lead to drive OT initiatives across maritime operations. This remote role focuses on securing networks, upgrading OT systems, and aligning with cybersecurity standards for fleet-wide operations.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in maritime OT networks, strong SCADA/PLC/HMI knowledge, and relevant certifications. DoD clearance is a plus, STCW/TWIC preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering/Cybersecurity/Maritime Studies or related field.
• 3+ years supporting OT networks in maritime, offshore, industrial, or critical infra environments.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, industrial protocols, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience leading technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with maritime regulations, class society requirements, and cyber risk management frameworks.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, PMP, CCNA/CCNP or maritime credentials preferred; DoD security clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support maritime OT networks and related infrastructure (SCADA/ PLCs/ HMIs).
• Lead OT network upgrades, migrations, and projects with minimal downtime.
• Ensure compliance with maritime cybersecurity standards and IMO guidelines.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and maintain fleet readiness.
• Develop network documentation, asset inventories, and cybersecurity procedures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, IT, Vessel Operations, and Safety teams on secure IT/OT integration.
