Job summary

Disability Rights Florida seeks a Managing Attorney to protect the civil rights of individuals with disabilities in Florida’s institutions, schools, and communities. You will supervise attorneys and non-attorneys, and oversee the team’s work to deliver high-quality legal services.

The role requires at least 5 years as an attorney, Florida Bar membership, and strong litigation experience in civil rights. You will travel statewide and contribute to advocacy, outreach, and education efforts with a

Qualifications

At least 5 years of attorney experience with civil rights focus, education sector preferred.
Experience supervising attorney and non-attorney staff.
Member of the Florida Bar.
Knowledge of state & federal law, procedures, and professional conduct.
Proven legal research and writing skills.
Ability to travel statewide in Florida.
Government clearance by the U.S. OPM is required.

Responsibilities

Assist the Team Director in managing attorney and non-attorney staff and overseeing the team’s work.
Oversee delivery of legal services including supervision of advocates/investigators and support staff.
Provide legal representation in various forums for clients and the organization.
Appear in administrative hearings, state and federal courts, and meetings; engage in advocacy and outreach.
