Job summary

Sigma Technologies, Ltd. is hiring a Make Ready Designer – Power Distribution for remote work in the U.S. The role focuses on overhead make-ready and joint-use design for electric distribution, applying NESC standards, pole loading, and construct-ready packages.

You will interpret field data, resolve design conflicts, and collaborate with utilities and project teams. Candidates should have 2+ years in make-ready or joint-use design, CAD or MicroStation proficiency, and a strong understanding of

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in make-ready engineering, joint-use, or electric power distribution design.
• Experience with utility pole design, NESC, clearance analysis, and making construction‑ready packages.
• Proficiency in CAD or MicroStation; familiarity with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution construction practices and ability to learn proprietary systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders to quality, schedule, and budget.
• Review field data, pole information, attachments, and existing conditions.
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, NESC clearances, pole loading, and required modifications.
• Develop construction-ready designs including pole replacements, transfers, and attachments.
• Apply NESC, engineering guidelines and client criteria; perform or support end-to-end design.
• Conduct permitting and easement research; resolve design conflicts with project teams.
