Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to support overhead pole design and joint-use projects for U.S. utilities.

This remote role focuses on turning field data, utility standards, and existing pole conditions into construction-ready make-ready designs. The position emphasizes overhead make-ready and joint-use design, including applying NESC clearance requirements, pole loading concepts, and developing design packages.

Qualifications

• Experience in make-ready engineering or joint-use design for electric power.
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; familiarity with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc preferred.
• Understanding of NESC clearance and pole loading concepts.
• Ability to travel occasionally and work ET schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders to meet quality, schedule, and budget.
• Review field data, pole information, attachments, and existing conditions.
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs including pole transfers and attachments.
• Apply NESC requirements and client design criteria.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve conflicts and discrepancies.
• Perform permitting and easement research as needed.
• Support QC reviews and additional project/design tasks.
