Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer to manage and optimize mainframe network environments, including VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP and related software. The role emphasizes client-focused, ITIL-aligned operations with opportunities to work remotely most of the time.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mainframe networking, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and proven project leadership in system programming. Flexible engagement with client environments and cross-team collaboration are key.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ mainframe networking experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience
• Ability to prioritize and balance tasks and deadlines
• Experience developing, leading, and managing system programming projects
• Commitment to ITIL, Change and Problem Management processes

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, test, administer, maintain and update mainframe network software (VTAM, TCPIP, FTP, SFTP)
• Configure interfaces to subsystems and support client mainframe network environments
• Diagnose, resolve and document network-related problems
• Monitor system performance and ensure availability per service agreements
• Automate processes and seek efficiency improvements
• Communicate with software vendors, peers, clients and leadership
