Job summary

Ensono is seeking a skilled Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance critical mainframe applications. You will lead technical efforts, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide junior teammates, while working remotely across the United States.

The role requires 3–5 years of specialized mainframe experience, with strong COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM skills, plus familiarity with DevOps practices and SDLC. A US citizen is preferred and a bachelor’s/master’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance.
• Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM; strong SDLC and familiarity with version control and development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Work with enterprise ticketing systems and support workflows.
• Handle incidents, service requests and change requests in waterfall and agile environments.
