Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Engineer to support, maintain and enhance critical mainframe applications remotely in the United States. The role requires 3–5 years of specialized mainframe experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2 and VSAM, plus SDLC/DevOps knowledge.

You’ll lead technical work, mentor teammates, and coordinate with operations on incidents and changes. You will work remotely for most of the time, with opportunities to collaborate across US sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 3–5 years of mainframe development, support and maintenance.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM; SDLC and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• US Citizen or US Green Card Holder.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Handle incidents, service requests and change requests in Agile/Waterfall settings.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex applications.
• Perform performance tuning of mainframe apps and queries.
• Develop documentation for knowledge bases and SOPs.
• Guide junior team members and align options with business needs.
