Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Database Administrator to join a DoD-focused team. You will support a mainframe system with online and batch processing, interfacing with about 53 other systems, and you will manage Cincom SUPRA PDM/MANTIS databases, COBOL copybooks, and the Total-File-Views on z/OS.

The role emphasizes technical mentorship and modernization efforts. This position is fully remote in the United States, requires US citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance, and demands strong problem

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD or 12 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S Citizen
• Must have Active Public Trust clearance
• Security+ Certification (Preferred)
• Knowledge of full product development life-cycle concepts, practices and procedures
• Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels of management
• Highly adaptive and flexible to a changing environment

Responsibilities

• Software development and database administration using Cincom SUPRA PDM, MANTIS, COBOL, and JCL.
• Provide technical support and consultation in the review and acceptance of deliverables related to system platform modernization.
• System hosted on z/OS (IBM mainframe operating system).
• Support numerous SUPRA PDM databases, maintain COBOL copybooks to coincide with database changes, and manage the Total-File-Views for online programmers to interact with database files.
• Perform directory maintenance for SUPRA PDM database files.
• Evaluate the database environment, document functions and create diagrams to support MOCAS modernization.
• Familiar with programming languages and development tools as specified.
