Job summary

Conch Technologies, Inc is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Developer to lead onshore/offshore teams in a remote contract role. You will apply mainframe JCL, COBOL, DB2/IMS, and MQ to deliver robust systems with strong architectural discipline.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers on blueprints, and drive continuous improvement, balancing hands-on coding with design, reviews, and stakeholder communication throughout ongoing releases.

Qualifications

Minimum 8+ years of software development experience in mainframe technologies.
Demonstrated experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods.
Demonstrated experience leading teams of engineers (on shore and offshore).
Experience with Mainframe-JCL, COBOL, DB2/IMS, Stored Procs, MQ, SYNCSORT required.
Ability to communicate across third parties, technical teams, and business product managers.

Responsibilities

Ovmsall technical aspects of software development for assigned applications; Hands-on architecture, design, and development of systems.
Manages and mentors teams of junior and senior engineers through ongoing sprints.
Functions as a senior member of an agile team and helps drive consistent development practices.
Develop deep understanding tie-ins with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.
Works closely with Product Managers on blueprints; spends 30-50% of time coding and testing; remainder on reviews and stakeholder alignment.
