Job summary

Fortis Industries, Inc. DBA - LTS, Inc. is seeking a Publications Specialist II - Magazine Editor to manage the magazine lifecycle—from content intake to final distribution—ensuring on-time delivery, high editorial quality, and accessibility compliance.

Fully remote, with occasional Washington, DC meetings. Requirements: 7–10 years in editorial/publication management; bachelor's degree in a related field; proven experience overseeing a periodical (technical or research).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive editorial and publication management experience.
• Experience overseeing a periodical, preferably technical or research journal.
• Remote role with occasional meetings in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle & Production Management: Oversee the complete magazine lifecycle, including establishing production schedules, managing the publication cycle, and systematically tracking article versions through a comprehensive approval chain.
• Editorial & Writing Support: Provide high-level editorial support, assisting with content development and the creation of promotional materials.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary liaison between writing/author teams and the layout/design teams, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all articles and the magazine adhere to style guides and 508 accessibility requirements, securing sign-offs before release.
• Logistical Oversight: Manage distribution and formatting specifications to meet organizational standards.
