Job summary

PCI Federal (PCIF) seeks a Publications Specialist II - Magazine Editor to manage the magazine lifecycle end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery and strict quality standards for a quarterly publication produced remotely.

The role requires 7–10 years editorial and publication management, strong copyediting and project management, and expert knowledge of Section 508; you will coordinate with writers, designers, technical reviewers, and legal counsel, with occasional meetings in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive editorial/publication management experience.
• Experience overseeing production of a periodical, preferably technical or specialty.
• Remote position but able to attend meetings in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

• Lifecycle & Production Management: Oversee the magazine lifecycle, production schedules, and track article versions.
• Editorial & Writing Support: Provide high-level editorial support and QA throughout editing and production.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate between writers, layout/design teams, reviewers, and legal counsel.
• Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure adherence to style manuals and Section 508 accessibility; secure sign-offs.
• Logistical Oversight: Manage distribution and formatting specifications for professional release.
