Job summary

People, Technology & Processes is seeking a Publications Specialist II - Magazine Editor for a full-time remote position. The role oversees the complete lifecycle of a technical or specialty magazine, ensuring production schedules, version control, and QA are rigorously applied.

You will coordinate between authors, editors, and design teams to manage reviews and approvals. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in communications, English, journalism, or related field, with 7–10 years in

Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism or related field.
7–10 years of progressive editorial/publication management experience.
Experience overseeing production of a periodical, preferably technical or specialty publication.

Responsibilities

Oversee the complete magazine lifecycle, including production schedules and publication cycles.
Provide high-level editorial support and content development with strict version control and QA.
Serve as primary liaison between writers and layout/design teams and manage complex review processes.
Ensure all articles and the magazine adhere to GPO Style Manual, Chicago Manual of Style, and Section 508 accessibility; confirm signoffs before release.
Manage distribution and formatting to meet organizational standards for professional release.
