Job summary

Harris is seeking a Research Analyst to support our M&A process, focusing on rigorous screening of prospects, data quality in CRM, and primary research on owner-operated businesses and private equity targets. You will analyze market trends, competitors, and potential carve-outs, while leveraging AI tools for research and automation.

The role requires 1–3+ years in finance or data analysis, a BBA/BCom-style degree, and the ability to work remotely in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, software, or data analysis.
• Self-motivated individual with an ability to perform independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and analytical ability.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply investment criteria for rigorous screening of M&A prospects.
• Maintain data quality of the watch-list of M&A prospects in CRM with reports and dashboards.
• Perform primary research on owner-operated businesses, private equity portfolio companies, and potential carve-outs of multinational corporations.
• Conduct market sizing, industry trends, and competitor analysis for M&A opportunities.
• Research software M&A advisors, brokers, and investment banks.
• Identify and analyze relevant 3rd party data sources for M&A prospects.
• Prepare and report on KPIs related to the M&A pipeline.
• Support capital deployment on various ad hoc projects with senior leaders.
