Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Lost Time Claims Specialist to manage indemnity and medical benefits in workers’ compensation across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate with injured workers, employers, and medical providers to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years in workers’ compensation, and an adjuster license (additional licenses welcomed). Reports to the Director, Workers’ Compensation Claims, with a salary range and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years of workers’ compensation experience required.
• One valid workers’ compensation adjuster license preferred; eligible to obtain additional licenses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing indemnity and medical benefits; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and establishes an action plan to manage medical and indemnity benefits to cost-effective conclusions.
• Decides claim outcomes by applying policy, procedures, and guidelines.
• Gathers facts via interviews and considers all elements before decisions.
• Manages claims litigation with panel counsel throughout the life of the claim.
• Collaborates with injured workers, employers, and medical providers to ensure timely return to work.
• Analyzes reports from physicians, attorneys, and vocational experts to adjust strategies.
