Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a Lost Time Claims Specialist, Workers’ Compensation in Kentucky. The role primarily manages indemnity claims, conducts investigation, evaluation, and determinations of compensability, and collaborates with medical and legal partners to ensure favorable outcomes.

The candidate should have a background in workers’ compensation, strong analytic and communication skills, and the ability to work across teams to drive cost-effective resolutions while maintaining service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Three years of experience in the field of workers’ compensation insurance required.
• Must pass the claims adjuster license exam(s) as assigned within 90 days of being hired.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and establishes an action plan to manage medical and indemnity benefits.
• Decides the outcome of the claim using established policy and guidelines.
• Gathers facts by interviewing involved parties and reviews all claim elements.
• Determines eligibility of indemnity and medical benefits after salary and treatment plans are secured.
• Keeps claim reserves accurate reflecting probable outcomes throughout the life of the claim.
