Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Logistics Specialist I at the Bedford, Indiana Production Facility to support a mission-critical program. This hands-on role handles receiving, tracking, organizing, and managing materials to align with production schedules.

You will log items, update BOM-based records, and help ensure accurate inventory in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include staging materials, labeling for traceability, coordinating with procurement, and supporting PCA activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with zero years experience.
• 2 years of logistics, warehousing, inventory management, or production supply chain experience.
• Associate degree in logistics or related field preferred.
• Experience with inventory systems and Excel-based tracking tools.
• Experience receiving and processing materials against POs and packing lists.
• Proficient in Excel for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with barcode scanning, part-number tagging, and labeling systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities.
• Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log all incoming materials against BOM and POs.
• Maintain inventory records in Excel and IMT with part numbers, quantities, locations, and status.
• Organize and stage materials across storage locations for production use.
• Tag and label all inventory items for traceability.
• Coordinate with Procurement on shipments, schedules, and shortages.
• Support PCA activities with accurate inventory counts and location data.
• Identify and report discrepancies between receipts and POs/BOMs.
• Support production with material pulls, kitting, and staging for builds.
• Maintain shipping/receiving docs: packing lists, bills of lading, deliveries.
• Coordinate outbound shipments and material transfers between facilities.
• Assist with cycle counts and periodic inventory reconciliation.
• Assist with forklift operations as needed (35k cert preferred).
