Job summary

Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, seeks a remote technical support resource for BNSF locomotive fleets from its Fort Worth, TX location. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and guide recovery efforts using data, fault histories, and fleet monitoring tools.

The role requires familiarity with EMD locomotive systems, strong mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• BSME or BSEE degree preferred.
• Experience with EMD locomotive systems and locomotive troubleshooting preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and database reporting tools.
• Experience with locomotive monitoring and diagnostic systems such as LTS/Uptime/IntelliTrain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote debugging and troubleshooting for locomotive systems, coordinating with field teams as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, reliability, and operations to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
• Generate reports and metrics using Power BI and Excel to monitor fleet reliability and performance.
• Support field recovery efforts remotely when local resources are limited or unavailable.
• Participate in conference calls and reviews to convey troubleshooting updates and fleet status.
