Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Locomotive Diagnostic Specialist to join our Global Performance Optimization Center in Erie, PA or Fort Worth, TX. You will remotely monitor complex locomotive issues, analyze data, and provide expert troubleshooting across a 7x24 global team.

You will collect and interpret data from GE/Wabtec locomotives, advise field teams, and drive opportunities to improve RM&D and field service performance. Travel of 10-15% is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in a technical discipline or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years relevant experience.
• Experience in designing, repairing, troubleshooting, operating, and/or maintaining diesel engines, locomotives, or related systems.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel 10-15% as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, calm under pressure over the phone.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, influencing, and leadership abilities in fast-paced environments.
• Able to manage multiple applications on a computer.
• Willing to work various shifts in a 7x24 team environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data from locomotives for troubleshooting in a 7x24 operation.
• Acquire key parameter and fault data; use software tools to formulate recommendations.
• Contact customers and field teams to ensure implementation of recommendations and identify new service opportunities.
• Assist customers and field personnel in troubleshooting via phone and other methods.
• Identify opportunities to enhance RM&D and Field Service productivity and performance.
• Support reliability projects and provide feedback to Engineering and Service Teams.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
