Job summary

Intertek seeks an Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection for remote, part-time work in the Jacksonville, FL area. You will inspect lightning protection systems on buildings, prepare reports, and assess compliance with LPI, NFPA and UL standards.

The role may require 75% travel and independent site work from a home-based location within the United States. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction or electrical trades, reads technical drawings, and can communicate clearly with clients.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
5+ years of experience in the construction or electrical trades.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
Ability to work independently to define problems and draw conclusions.
Willingness to travel up to 75% and adhere to PPE at construction sites.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Physical ability to lift at least 40 pounds and climb stairs/ladders.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Flexible schedule and reliable internet access.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections of lightning protection systems on buildings and structures.
Complete reports summarizing inspection work completed onsite.
Make judgments regarding compliance with applicable standards.
Coordinate with clients while planning site visits.
Perform other duties as required.
