Job summary

Intertek seeks an Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection for remote-based work in the Omaha, Nebraska region. You will perform field inspections of lightning protection systems, generate reports, and determine compliance with LPI, NFPA and UL standards, with up to 75% travel.

The role requires meeting minimum qualifications and communicating with clients to schedule visits, while ensuring safety and accuracy in inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in the construction or electrical trades, preferably as an Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor or Electrical Inspector.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Ability to work independently to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to adhere to site PPE requirements and work safely on an active construction site.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel 75% as needed, including air and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of lightning protection systems on buildings and structures as required by applicable LPI, NFPA and UL standards.
• Complete reports summarizing the inspection work completed onsite.
• Make judgments regarding compliance in terms of applicable standards.
• Communicate and coordinate with clients while planning visits to work locations.
• Perform other duties as required.
