Job summary

Intertek in the Omaha, Nebraska region is seeking an Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection, Remote Full-Time to perform field inspections of lightning protection systems on buildings and structures, ensuring compliance with NFPA, UL and LPI standards, and completing comprehensive reports.

This role requires up to 75% travel, a high school diploma, 5+ years in electrical trades, ability to read drawings, independence, and strong communication with clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in construction or electrical trades (Installer/Technician/Electrician/Contractor/Electrical Inspector).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Ability to work independently and define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
• Adherence to PPE requirements and safety on active construction sites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong customer communication and service orientation.
• Flexible schedule with 0–40+ hours/week; travel up to 75%.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable driving record.
• Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and climb ladders/ stairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of lightning protection systems on buildings and structures.
• Complete reports summarizing inspection work conducted onsite.
• Judge compliance with applicable standards.
• Communicate with clients while planning site visits.
• Perform additional duties as required.
