Job summary

LPI Group is seeking a focused Lightning Protection Installation Technician to coordinate and install lightning protection and grounding systems across diverse structures in the United States. You will ensure compliance with NFPA 780, UL 96A, and LPI-175 standards from roof to ground.

The role requires climbing, working at heights, and frequent travel up to 75% for project delivery, with on-the-job training through an apprenticeship pathway.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or electrical industry.
• Experience on commercial/industrial projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow installation standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction site practices.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Certifications from the Lightning Protection Institute (LPI) or UL are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install lightning protection systems including air terminals, conductors, bonding, and grounding.
• Inspect and test existing systems for proper function and compliance.
• Diagnose faults and upgrade systems to current standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Work at heights on roofs, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Document inspections and installation details for compliance reporting.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and building owners on requirements.
