Job summary

Lux Foundry is a growing lighting design studio focused on forging experiences through light. As Lighting Designer, you will contribute to all phases from concept to construction, translating ideas into technically sound lighting solutions while growing your professional foundation through mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Lighting Design or related field.
• 1–3 years post‑graduate experience in architectural lighting design.
• Familiarity with hospitality, residential, academic, or institutional projects.

Responsibilities

• Concept development: assist in developing lighting concepts and visualizations.
• Design support: research lighting strategies, fixture options, codes and best practices.
• Technical analysis: perform photometric calculations using AGI32 and COMcheck.
• Documentation: prepare lighting plans using Revit, AutoCAD, or Bluebeam.
• Specifications: assemble fixture cutsheets, schedules, and control documentation.
• Budgeting: prepare lighting equipment budget estimates with manufacturers and distributors.
• Collaboration: participate in design discussions and client meetings with senior staff.
• Task management: manage assigned tasks and deadlines within project schedules.
• Construction administration: assist with RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and punch lists.
• Field engagement: participate in site visits to review conditions and observe installations.
