Job summary

Qualifications

• Ten years life underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of underwriting manuals, rules and practices.
• Ability to interpret medical and financial information for risk classification.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites complex life insurance applications up to authority.
• Coordinates with field partners and internal partners for timely submissions.
• Evaluates evidence of insurability and determines appropriate requirements.
• Leads training and mentoring of less-experienced underwriters.
• Negotiate reinsurance terms within treaties and product practices.
• Interprets ECG tracings and consults Medical Director as needed.
• Engages in special projects with minimal direction.
