Qualifications

• Underwriter with extensive knowledge of life insurance factors and mortality/morbidity risk.
• Ability to order and interpret underwriting evidence and examinations.
• Experience with reinsurance terms negotiation and applying policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Receives, evaluates and underwrites complex life insurance applications within approved limits.
• Maintains knowledge of underwriting manuals, rules, and procedures affecting mortality and morbidity risk.
• Coordinates and negotiates automatic and facultative reinsurance within contractual terms.
• Educates internal and external partners on underwriting processes and tools; trains staff as needed.
• Works on special projects with little direction and develops plans and timelines.
• Meets with field partners to gather input and align on expectations.
