Job summary

Appsierra Group is seeking Life Sciences Research Assistants for a remote contractor role to contribute to AI benchmark projects. You will design expert-level evaluation tasks using authentic data and protocols, focusing on realism and rigorous rubrics.

Responsibilities include sourcing research materials, defining methods, and creating multi-item rubrics for LLM evaluation, with emphasis on accuracy and depth over generic scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on research or laboratory experience involving primary data analysis and scientific protocols.
• Demonstrated expertise in protocol-driven, multi-source scientific workflows.
• Strong scientific reasoning, data interpretation, and methodological evaluation skills.
• Strong written English skills, with experience drafting or reviewing scientific documentation.
• Familiarity with CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to rubric fidelity, supporting high-quality and objective task design.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex, authentic research evaluation tasks within the life sciences, including experimental design critique, protocol analysis, and primary data interpretation.
• Source and synthesize research materials such as raw experimental data, laboratory protocols, technical literature, and supplementary documents.
• Define and document the appropriate methodological approach and biological interpretation for each task.
• Create comprehensive, multi-item evaluation rubrics focused on methodological rigor, data interpretation, and source fidelity for LLM-based evaluation.
• Ensure tasks reflect the nuance, ambiguity, and depth of real-world scientific work rather than simplified or hypothetical scenarios.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators to receive feedback and refine deliverables.
