Job summary

Appsierra Group seeks an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to apply clinical expertise to evaluate and improve AI systems in laboratory medicine. You will craft realistic workflows from specimen receipt to result interpretation and judge AI outputs for accuracy, safety, and clinical relevance.

This remote, asynchronous hourly contract requires at least 10 hours per week and offers compensation in the $65–$95/hour range with weekly Stripe payments. No monitoring and ongoing project work.

Qualifications

• MLS(ASCP) certification or AMT MT required.
• At least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Substantial expertise in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, or blood bank.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical processes, and result interpretation.
• Clear written English for documenting laboratory reasoning.
• Availability to contribute at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop realistic laboratory scenarios spanning the workflow from specimen receipt through result interpretation.
• Create reference answers that explain the analytical reasoning behind laboratory findings and result calls.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for analytical accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and patient safety.
• Identify interpretations that appear reasonable but could result in an unsafe laboratory result being released.
• Clearly document your reasoning so other laboratory professionals can understand and evaluate your conclusions.
