Job summary

CorVel is seeking a Lien Specialist to support the Claims team in expediting closure of claim files, negotiating liens, and participating in WCAB litigation as required. This remote role operates under management supervision.

You will review files, contact lien claimants, negotiate via phone or email, prepare hearing packets, attend hearings remotely or in person, and draft pleadings. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review claim files and provide detailed analysis of defenses to claims adjuster.
• Make and receive calls to lien claimants to obtain documents for review.
• Negotiate treatment liens via telephonic or email negotiations.
• Prepare hearing packets for lien hearings.
• Attend lien conferences, lien trials, status conferences and hearings at WCAB, remotely and in-person as needed.
• Prepare and draft legal pleadings and petitions as needed.
• Complies with safety rules and regulations during working hours (IIPP).
• Additional duties as assigned.
