Job summary

Block is seeking an experienced operations leader to run the Legal Innovation & Operations (LIO) team within our Counsel organization. You will translate vision into execution, manage multiple workstreams, and drive automation and AI initiatives to improve how we work.

This role collaborates across Legal, Policy, IT, Finance and Business Operations to design tools, optimize processes, and deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in legal operations, tech strategy, or related operations.
• Experience leading automation or AI initiatives with measurable impact.
• Budget, timeline, and stakeholder management with attention to detail.
• Ability to translate technical details into clear business value.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the legal tech strategy, roadmap and tools.
• Oversee legal systems (CLM, eBilling, KM, workflows).
• Manage core digital platforms with budget-conscious focus.
• Collaborate across Legal, Policy, IT, Finance and Operations on tech rollouts.
• Design elegant solutions linking business needs and technology.
• Build vendor relationships to ensure measurable value from tech investments.
• Lead cross-functional automation and AI initiatives across the org.
• Foster operational excellence across opportunities.
