American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is seeking a Program Associate to oversee member-support and volunteer engagement initiatives within the Practice Innovation and Professionalism Center. You will develop practical resources, templates, and content while guiding volunteer programs and systematic improvements.

This is a fully remote role with DC-area preference and travel as needed to conferences and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years in an immigration law firm, immigration org, or related setting preferred.
• Immigration paralegal experience preferred; certificate or equivalent experience valued.
• Strong writing, editing, research, organization, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365; willingness to learn CMS, analytics, and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and evaluation of member-support and volunteer programs (Mentor Directory, Military Assistance, Pro Bono).
• Recruit, onboard, support, and retain volunteers; manage intake and referrals and set standards.
• Develop resources and tools; create templates, guides, and checklists for members and AAPs.
• Draft and curate content; manage workflows from concept to publication with cross-team collaboration.
• Improve processes, data systems, and knowledge management to enhance member experience.
• Identify gaps and opportunities for new programs and partnerships; support growth initiatives.
• Provide first-line guidance on practice management, technology, and workflow questions.
