Aston Carter is hiring a Lease Accountant to consolidate lease accounting data by migrating from FinQuery to ProLease, ensuring accurate lease accounting and GL integrity. The role supports journal entries and detailed reconciliations in a large revenue-generating organization, with a fully remote setup and a contract-to-hire path based near Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience performing account reconciliations.
• 5+ years experience preparing and recording journal entries.
• 2+ years ASC 842 lease accounting experience.
• Knowledge of lease accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Experience in an organization with revenue over $200 million.
• Ability to manage and validate large volumes of financial data with high accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in lease and GL accounts.

Responsibilities

• Migrate lease data from FinQuery to ProLease to centralize all lease accounting information in one system.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of lease data during migration, resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and record journal entries related to lease accounting per standards.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of lease-related accounts to maintain GL accuracy.
• Apply ASC 842 lease accounting principles to classify, measure, and report lease transactions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for leases.
• Review lease contracts and documentation to confirm proper accounting treatment and system setup.
• Maintain organized lease data records to support audits and reviews.
• Utilize FinQuery and ProLease, plus Deltek, to streamline workflows.
• Assist continuous improvement of lease accounting processes and configurations for a large organization.
