Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) for remote work supporting Veterans Affairs. The role emphasizes leading testing across legacy and modern healthcare platforms, ensuring HL7/FHIR interoperability and data integrity within VistA/FileMan environments.

The position requires 10+ years in software testing, with deep expertise in MUMPS/Cache and government/healthcare compliance.

Qualifications

Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare or government.
Experience testing enterprise healthcare applications and legacy systems.
Strong knowledge of MUMPS/InterSystems Cache and testing processes.
Proficient in creating detailed test plans and test cases.
Experience with SDLC and various testing types (functional, regression, UAT).
Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, and EDI standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans, cases, scripts, and procedures for MUMPS/Cache systems.
Support testing of legacy healthcare applications and interoperability initiatives.
Perform functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing activities.
Validate data integrity, system upgrades, and defect resolutions.
Collaborate with developers, BA, product owners, and users to align tests with requirements.
Lead testing efforts and mentor junior testers; document metrics and status reports.
