Job summary

Maximus seeks a Lead Software Engineer to design and develop complex web applications using Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, and Azure. This remote role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps and SQL Server.

You will mentor junior engineers, estimate effort for PBIs, perform QA, present to stakeholders, and ensure HIPAA-compliant practices while coordinating with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or closely related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visual C#, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript, Telerik Kendo UI, and SQL Server/Azure SQL T-SQL.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex software applications from business requirements.
• Investigate new solutions, tools, and techniques to improve coding standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and propose detailed resolutions.
• Support testing and remediate defects.
• Guide, coach, and mentor entry and mid-level developers.
• Estimate Level of Effort for PBIs for web applications.
• Create and complete PBIs for web apps using .NET, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Azure SQL.
• Perform Scrum QA for web applications.
• Present web applications to internal stakeholders.
• Perform privileged database operations as needed.
