Job summary

Healing Partners is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a small engineering team responsible for the design, development, reliability, and modernization of our healthcare platform. The role combines people management with hands-on technical work and close collaboration with stakeholders.

You will remain technically engaged through architecture, code reviews, troubleshooting, and crafting robust CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring practices, while guiding delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including production web apps.
• 3+ years of formal people-management experience with performance management and mentoring.
• Experience leading a small software engineering team in a player-coach capacity.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js/Express, REST APIs, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience with MongoDB and relational databases (SQL Server/MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Azure and cloud-hosted production apps experience; CI/CD and monitoring Practises.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small, high-impact software engineering team responsible for the design, development, reliability, and modernization of Healing Partners’ healthcare platform.
• Hands-on leadership with 30-40% development time; architecture reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Formalize DevOps and software engineering practices, CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and incident response.
• Oversee production support, incident response, and service restoration with clear stakeholder communication.
• Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js/Express, REST APIs, MongoDB, and SQL databases.
• Partner with Infra and Security to improve monitoring, backups, and secrets management.
• Mentor and develop engineers, conduct performance reviews, and hire recommendations.
