Job summary

8th Light is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive architecture and implementation across varied client engagements in the US. You will lead critical software initiatives, design discussions, and oversee end‑to‑end development, including AI/ML features, ensuring scalable, secure, and high‑quality solutions.

You will mentor teams, balance trade‑offs between technology choices and product needs, and maintain strong client relationships while delivering impact across multiple projects per year.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading high‑stakes consulting engagements from discovery to production.
• Experience building or integrating AI/ML features into products or systems.
• Experience mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• Strong collaboration with teams using Git, MacOS/Linux, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and software design discussions with clients and teams.
• Oversee projects from inception through deployment, managing risks and timelines.
• Guide full ML lifecycle: data ingestion, preprocessing, model deployment, monitoring.
• Balance technical decisions with product and user needs in client engagements.
• Foster team health and company culture by modeling values and mentoring others.
• Maintain relationships with client technical leaders and provide regular status updates.
