Job summary

North-South-Consulting-Group is seeking a highly skilled Lead QA Engineer to oversee and drive quality assurance across complex software projects. You will design test plans, manage defects, and lead automated testing using Cypress in AWS environments, integrated with Azure DevOps for CI/CD.

This 100% remote role demands strong leadership, deep automation experience, and excellent communication to mentor junior team members and ensure delivery of high-quality software on time.

Qualifications

• MA/MS in related field with 10+ years experience or BA/BS with 15+ years experience.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/hold SECRET clearance.
• 5+ years in Software QA, with at least 2 years in Senior/Lead capacity.
• Proficient in Cypress for end-to-end web testing; Selenium or Appium is a plus.
• Experience testing in AWS environments; Azure DevOps for test management and CI/CD.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Execution: Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and test cases encompassing functional, performance, and security testing.
• Test Automation (Cypress): Design, develop, and maintain robust automated end-to-end test suites using Cypress.
• Cloud Environment Testing (AWS): Conduct comprehensive testing of distributed applications and microservices hosted within AWS cloud environments.
• CI/CD Integration (Azure DevOps): Integrate automated test scripts into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and seamless deployments.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using Azure DevOps (or Jira).
• Leadership & Mentorship: Lead QA initiatives, provide technical guidance to junior team members, and advocate for quality engineering best practices across the development lifecycle.
