Job summary

Natera is seeking a Bioinformatics Manager to lead a team of bioinformaticians and data scientists focused on Oncology Product Development and ctDNA-based diagnostic tests.

You will provide technical leadership across research, development and commercial launch, supervise staff, and guide analytical approaches with strong mathematical principles. This role emphasizes collaboration and independent problem solving.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (bioinformatics, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, or similar).
• 4-8 years of post-graduate experience in data science/bioinformatics and 1-3 years as technical lead in diagnostics or related field.
• Experience moving algorithm-based products through commercialization and launch in medical/biological applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of tools and pipelines for diagnostic tests, including cancer variant or methylation pattern detection and QC thresholds.
• Provide technical leadership for product development from research through commercial launch.
• Supervise bioinformatics scientists and data scientists, manage contributions and develop staff.
• Advise on experiment design, analysis, and interpretation using expertise in Natera’s tech and math principles.
• Operate with a high level of independence on assignments and contribute to IP.
• Set standards for rigorous data analysis and produce high-quality documentation.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and drive project milestones.
