Job summary

IPS-Integrated Project Services seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the United States. You will lead the design of HVAC systems, oversee project teams, and coordinate scope and budgets with clients across multiple life sciences facilities.

This role requires extensive building-design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit, and strong code- and load-calculation skills. Travel up to 20% may be required as projects demand onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years of engineering/design experience in building design (HVAC and utilities).
• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Strong understanding of the construction process and design standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Revit and energy/loads software.
• 4+ years overseeing engineers and designers on project teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct the mechanical design of HVAC systems and related plant/service piping.
• Lead projects through feasibility, design and documentation phases.
• Define scope, budget, and staffing with the Project Manager.
• Collaborate with code officials and other professionals on code interpretations.
• Review progress, provide markups, and ensure timely delivery to clients.
• Coordinate documents with clients and internal teams, and manage client communications.
• Perform engineering calculations for duct sizing, pressure drops, and equipment sizing.
