Job summary

IPS is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team at any U.S. office location (MA, MD, NJ, PA, NC, KS, CA), with remote employment possible.

You will lead the design of HVAC systems for life sciences facilities, manage project teams, and coordinate with clients and other design professionals across multiple projects. You will oversee engineers and designers, perform complex calculations, and ensure compliance with codes, while contributing to budgets, schedules, and quality standards in

Qualifications

• 10-12 years of Engineering/design experience in building design (HVAC systems, utility generation).
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Thorough understanding of construction processes.
• Experience with load calculations and energy analysis.
• 4 years of experience overseeing engineers and designers on project teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct the mechanical (HVAC) design for pharma/life sciences facilities.
• Lead projects through feasibility, assessments, basis of design, and detailed design.
• Prepare scopes of work and coordinate with clients and internal teams.
• Review progress, provide markups for drawings, and manage budgets.
• Promote design standards and mentor staff.
