Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of sophisticated mechanical systems using advanced materials from a remote location. You will lead a globally distributed team through the entire design cycle, from concept to validation, ensuring innovative and reliable solutions.

The role requires a PhD or MSc in Mechanical Engineering with a materials focus, 12+ years in mechanical design, and at least 5 years in leadership.

Competenze

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with specialization in materials science or advanced manufacturing.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive mechanical design experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience designing with advanced materials (composites, ceramics, specialty alloys) and understanding their mechanical properties.

Mansioni

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, focusing on advanced materials.
• Mentor a globally distributed team of remote mechanical engineers and guide project execution.
• Develop and refine conceptual designs ensuring feasibility and alignment with project objectives.
• Use CAD, CAE, and FEA tools for simulations of performance, durability, and material behavior.
• Collaborate with R&D to explore new material applications in mechanical designs.
• Establish and enforce best practices for design, documentation, and quality control across the remote team.
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation to meet rigorous specifications.
• Serve as technical point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners.
