Job summary

LanceSoft, Inc. seeks a Lead Mainframe Engineer to maintain enterprise IBM Z/mainframe environments. The role emphasizes hands-on DB2 work, SMP/E, USS, Zowe, and z/OSMF, with leadership across cross-functional teams.

You’ll install, configure, deploy, and optimize mainframe software, storage, and related infrastructure while collaborating with infrastructure, application, and database teams. Remote work is supported for this position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in a mainframe environment.
• Strong hands-on DB2 experience – critical requirement.
• 1+ years of experience with UNIX System Services (USS), Zowe, and z/OSMF.
• 2+ years of experience working with mainframe storage infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, and deploying mainframe server software using SMP/E.
• Experience with one or more of the following mainframe technologies/products: z/OS, ESP, ACF2, Syncsort, WebSphere, DFSMS, HSM, CICS, DB2.
• 2+ years of coding/scripting experience with REXX, COBOL, SAS, ISPF, CLIST, JCL.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Preferred: IBM Specialist (System z) certification or equivalent IBM Z/mainframe certification.

Responsibilities

DB2 experience is a critical requirement for this position. Candidates should have demonstrated experience working with DB2 within a mainframe environment, along with strong knowledge of mainframe software installation, configuration, deployment, and infrastructure.
