Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a z/OS Systems Programmer to support a high Availability mainframe environment. Lead installations, upgrades, and tuning of z/OS and third-party software, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance and reliability.

You will troubleshoot complex mainframe issues, administer JES2, CICS, IMS, MQ, and Db2, and participate in DR planning and recovery exercises. On-call support is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in a total IT environment.
• 10+ years designing, developing and supporting technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of IBM z/OS across Sysplex environments.
• Develop and execute z/OS upgrade/migration methods using SMP/E.
• Troubleshoot complex z/OS system, performance, and infra issues.
• Administer JES2, CICS, IMS, MQ, and Db2 subsystems.
• Collaborate with storage, security, network, app dev, and capacity teams.
• Configure IBM and third-party software including Broadcom, BMC, and Compuware.
• Participate in DR planning, testing, and recovery exercises.
