Job summary

Bayview Fund Management, LLC is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to guide cloud infrastructure strategy and hands-on execution while leading a small elite team. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and cost discipline in a regulated fintech environment.

You will partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and Data to design and deliver scalable, observable infrastructure across cloud platforms, IaC, and automation.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years building, operating, and improving production infrastructure, internal platforms, or DevOps systems.
• 2+ years as a tech lead, staff-level project lead, or hands-on leader guiding projects and mentoring engineers.
• Deep experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and managed services.
• Hands-on IaC experience, preferably Terraform or a comparable framework, with reusable modules.
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, release workflows, and modern DevOps practices at platform scale.
• Container experience with Docker and Kubernetes (or ECS).
• Production automation scripting in Python, Go, Bash, or TypeScript.
• Observability, incident response, runbooks, post-incident improvements.
• Security basics: IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, encryption.
• Track record improving developer velocity, cloud cost efficiency, reliability.
• Excellent communication and judgment in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and operation of cloud infrastructure across major platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Establish reusable infrastructure patterns and technical standards for provisioning and operation.
• Own high-impact infrastructure initiatives from strategy through rollout and iteration.
• Lead and contribute to infrastructure as code using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
• Automate repeatable operational workflows, provisioning, configuration, and deployments.
• Improve infrastructure quality via modular design, documentation, testing, and reviews.
• Collaborate to improve CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and build systems.
• Create self-service tools and paved-path templates for developers.
• Set pragmatic guardrails balancing speed and control for production readiness.
• Lead production operations including deployments, incident response, and post-incident follow-up.
• Define observability across logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and SRE reviews.
• Drive reliability and operational maturity, addressing risks proactively.
• Coach teams to build operational judgment and resilience.
• Coordinate delivery across engineers and partner teams to remove blockers.
