Job summary

ASM Tech Solutions LLC is seeking a Lead / Senior Data Scientist with deep retail domain experience to turn sales and merchandising data into actionable pricing, promotions, assortment and demand insights. This is a hands-on technical role that also leads a small data science team.

You will work with merchandising, pricing and commercial teams to build models in Python or R and present findings to executives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data science or advanced analytics, with retail/merchandising experience.
• Hands-on experience with retail sales, merchandising and assortment data.
• Proven work in pricing, promotions, demand forecasting, or customer behavior.
• Strong Python (or R) and SQL, with large-scale data handling.
• Solid grounding in ML, time-series, statistics and experimentation.
• Track record translating business problems into usable models.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Define problems with merchandising and pricing teams and translate into data science solutions.
• Mine and analyse large datasets to drive sales, margin and behavior insights.
• Build and deploy ML, forecasting and predictive models for demand, pricing and promotions.
• Support range planning and category decisions with data.
• Analyse customer behavior via segmentation, basket analysis and lifetime value.
• Measure impact of pricing/promo changes using A/B tests and causal methods.
• Stay hands-on technically while mentoring juniors and presenting findings to stakeholders.
