Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a senior data scientist to lead the design and deployment of advanced statistical and machine learning models across claims, risk, and operations. You will work with large enterprise datasets, architect scalable modeling pipelines, and ensure governance and reproducibility of analytics.

You will guide cross-functional partners, translate complex results for business leaders, and mentor junior team members to elevate analytical capabilities across Sedgwick.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Economics, or related field.
• 8–12+ years of data science or advanced analytics experience.
• Deep expertise in ML algorithms and predictive analytics methodologies.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R.
• Experience with large-scale datasets in enterprise environments.
• Proven end-to-end modeling pipeline design and deployment.
• Knowledge of model validation, feature engineering, and performance evaluation.
• Ability to communicate complex analytics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of advanced statistical and machine learning models to improve claims outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Serve as the technical authority for complex modeling initiatives including fraud detection and risk modeling.
• Develop predictive models using structured and unstructured data (notes, records, policy docs).
• Architect modeling pipelines using gradient boosting, deep learning, NLP, and probabilistic methods.
• Collaborate with AI Engineering to productionize models in enterprise platforms.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts across the organization.
