Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead cryptographic infrastructure within the Security Platform Engineering group. You will shape architecture for highly available, zero-trust systems and mentor a team of senior engineers.

You'll define technical strategies with a multi-quarter horizon, own critical initiatives, and collaborate across Security, Product, and Policy to deliver secure, resilient services used across Coinbase. Experience with PKI, X.509, and HSMs highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated success building highly available, distributed systems.
• Deep domain expertise in PKI and applied cryptography with proven experience operating certificate authorities.
• Extensive programming in Golang, Java, C++, or Rust, with experience in a Golang-heavy environment.
• Proven track record operating Tier-0 or critical infrastructure with high resilience, security, and low latency.
• Experience leading a team's technical strategy, architecture, and deliverables for large-scale projects amid regulatory requirements.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency and quality.
