Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Electrical, Controls, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of gas turbine or power plant controls engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting turbine control systems.
• Experience with DCS, PLCs, HMI platforms, and power plant instrumentation.
• Commissioning experience on gas turbine or power generation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessments of turbine control systems (GE Mark IV–VIe) and define upgrade or replacement requirements.
• Establish controls scope for instrumentation, I/O, HMI, and system configuration.
• Specify and review turbine controls, DCS, PLCs, and HMI systems.
• Develop and review control narratives, alarm/trip lists, and startup/shutdown/load-control sequences.
• Review fuel/combustion control requirements including DLN tuning and protection inputs.
• Define instrumentation requirements and review instrument datasheets and loop drawings.
• Coordinate controls integration with excitation systems, generator protection, switchyard equipment, and SCADA.
• Support industrial cybersecurity considerations and control network requirements.
• Lead or participate in factory acceptance testing, loop checks, commissioning, and controls tuning.
• Troubleshoot turbine trips and control system issues; drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
