Pearson is seeking a Lead Specialist, Solution Architect to shape the architecture behind the OnVUE online proctored testing platform and guide multiple engineering teams as they modernise secure, scalable delivery.

You will translate business needs into practical architecture, lead design decisions, and mentor engineers while ensuring architectural intent across the OnVUE solution footprint.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in software engineering or solution architecture.
• Strong Java enterprise architecture experience (Spring/Spring Boot).
• Experience across front-end and back-end tech (Angular).
• Cloud-platform experience (Azure preferred; AWS also relevant).
• Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native delivery experience.
• Designing and scaling reliable, distributed applications with operational health.
• Third-party integration and API/service-integration experience.
• Ability to lead technical decisions across multiple teams without formal authority.
• Clear communication, facilitation, documentation and mentoring skills.
• Experience with LLMs or ML is helpful but not essential.

• Mentor engineers and architects and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
